Hi! I’m Jasmine, one of the Operations team regional managers here at Flock Safety. I’m currently based out of Atlanta where our main office is located, but when Flock Safety goes international I will be the first in line to go; I’ve been bitten by the travel bug.

I came to Flock Safety because I was looking for a change of career after eight long and unfulfilling years in retail. I was referred by a former co-worker, and at first I was hesitant to make a change. I made the leap and I’m so glad that I did.

When I first came onboard I was a scheduler who dispatched technicians to maintenance jobs. Right away, I felt that my position made a profound impact on the communities that rely on our product. I was paired with a knowledgeable manager who got me up to speed quickly and I was supported by the others on the team if I had anything that I needed help with.

One of the things that keeps me excited about working at Flock Safety is that sense of community. I love that people’s positions are treated with equal importance and that we shout out each other’s accomplishments and achievements whenever possible.

Looking back at where I was a year ago and where I am now, I realize that I didn’t just find a job here; I found a tight-knit group with drive, ambition, and a sense of purpose. They accept all of my ridiculous photos on our messaging platform and I could ask for nothing more.

I’ve now gone from a scheduler to a regional manager, managing a team of schedulers who are responsible for the maintenance and installation schedules for the technicians in the Western states. We’re still building a base in this region, so it’s exciting to see how much we’re going to be able to change communities for the better. Some of the customers we have there now are so excited about the cameras and share their successes with us, and it feels so good to hear that we’ve helped.

I believe in our mission to eliminate non-violent crime, and hearing each success lets me know that we’re heading in the right direction. I drive through my community knowing that there are Flock Safety cameras there (I love waving to them) ensuring that we are safe. When I see Amber alerts in our area with car descriptions, my first thought is, “that area has Flock Safety cameras, they’ve got this.” The sense of pride I get about our company when our product aids in a successful apprehension is almost overwhelming. Watching our community become safer in real time has been an eye-opening experience.

Now I’ve spoken a lot about Flock, and not a lot about who I am. I’m a transplant from Virginia, living in an Atlanta suburb with my boyfriend and the two best cats in the world. I studied psychology and animation and discovered my love for tech, building computers and practicing programming in my spare time. I love to read (currently going through Nabakov’s works), bake, and study languages (Japanese and Javascript, currently). I have an impressive backlog of games to play, and I’m sure I’ll finish it any decade now (no promises, but I’m trying to be optimistic!)

I also love driving — hitting the highway with the windows down and just heading wherever the wind takes me. My car is my baby and I have her decorated with an unnecessary amount of window vinyls, an octopus (stuffed) hanging from the rearview mirror, and interior LEDs. I know that if someone were to take my car in any city with Flock cameras, we would be able to catch my plate.

Looking at all of my hobbies, I know that Flock Safety is a great place for me because things are constantly moving and it’s relevant to my tech interests. Having been in a stagnant company before, it was such a refreshing transition going from, “this is the only way to fix this problem” to, “Let’s think of some solutions to help us reach our goals.”

At Flock Safety I feel heard and respected, and as someone who strives to live by the values of listening and being respectful of others, this is great to experience. I’ll say it plainly: I love what I do at Flock Safety. I get to utilize flexible thinking, make choices and decisions, and ultimately help to make people’s communities safer. Knowing the impact that we have made and that we will make in the future makes me beyond proud to call myself a part of the Flock.
