Faster Than CAD: Get Eyes on Scene in Seconds with Flock911 + DFR

Introducing Flock 911 for Aerodome, Enabling Instant Drone Launch from Incoming 911 Calls for the First Time Ever

In emergencies, time can be the crucial factor between containment and escalation. In incidents such as an armed robbery, it may take several minutes from the moment a 911 call is made before first responders are even notified—time that could ultimately influence the situation's outcome. During these critical minutes, suspects flee the scene, valuable evidence is lost, and victims' conditions deteriorate.

Today’s emergency response workflows leave valuable time on the table, with first responders waiting for critical information to be entered into dispatch systems before they can act. That changes today.

Flock911 is already improving safety and accelerating case resolution by closing the 911 call gap. With this new integration of Flock911 into the Flock Aerodome Drone as First Responder (DFR) system, agencies can now deploy drones based on active 911 call data—before calls are entered into the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

When an incident happens, the cumulative response time starts when a 911 call is answered, includes the notification and dispatch of the call, and ends with the arrival on scene. This industry-first integration facilitates a “negative response time,” allowing for eyes on an emergency before the clock starts ticking in a traditional dispatch workflow.

The 911 Call Gap explained

Redefining Emergency Response with Integration of Active 911 Calls

This new capability, powered by Prepared, allows DFR pilots to access 911 call transcripts as they’re happening directly within the Flock Aerodome flight software. Additionally, with our augmented reality overlay, pilots can see precisely where the call is coming from on their flight screen, making it easy to navigate to the incident with precision.

By reducing response times, public safety agencies solve cases faster, maximize officer efficiency, and improve officer and public safety.

This is the first solution of its kind—never before has a drone been able to deploy based on an active 911 call without waiting for dispatch input. This groundbreaking capability marks a major shift toward real-time, proactive emergency response that can save lives.

Here’s why this integration is significant for public safety:

  • First-to-Scene, Faster Than Ever: CAD-dispatched calls and license plate recognition (LPR) hits directly in Flock Aerodome were only the beginning. Now, DFR pilots can deploy drones in response to active 911 calls, obtaining immediate situational awareness before officers arrive.
  • Enhanced Navigation with Aerovision: The augmented reality overlay gives drone pilots accurate, real-time visual markers indicating the source of an emergency call, simplifying navigation and minimizing search time.
  • Included with Flock Aerodome: Flock911 is now built into Flock Aerodome DFR and is available today to all customers at no additional cost.
  • Better Outcomes for Communities: Faster response times can mean the difference between life and death in critical situations. This integration empowers first responders to act swiftly, improving overall public safety.

How It Works

In a typical emergency scenario, when a 911 call is placed, dispatchers must listen to the caller carefully, ask the right questions, and manually type details into the CAD system simultaneously. Since they’re focused on gathering information from a caller who may be panicking, entering everything into the system takes time. All of this must be completed before officers can be deployed.

With Flock911, live emergency call data is available instantly within Flock Aerodome. A DFR pilot can receive real-time transcription, assess the evolving situation, and launch a drone immediately. A mouse click will send the drone on an automated flight path to the caller’s GPS coordinates. With augmented reality overlays, the pilot can instantly visualize the exact location of the call, reducing uncertainty and enabling rapid deployment to the correct location. This ensures first responders have an unparalleled advantage in responding to emergencies.

Delivering Immediate Value to Agencies

This integration aligns with our core mission: equipping public safety agencies with cutting-edge tools that enhance efficiency, safety, and effectiveness. And we’re doing it without adding cost or complexity for existing Flock Aerodome customers.

For agencies looking to expand access beyond DFR pilots—such as to Patrol, Real Time Crime Centers (RTCCs), or School Resource Officers—Flock911 is also available as a standalone product, fully integrated within the Flock ecosystem.

A Milestone in Public Safety Innovation

This marks the first time a drone can be deployed based on an active 911 call, without waiting for a dispatcher to process the incident. It represents a shift toward real-time, proactive emergency response that can save lives.

As Flock Safety continues to innovate, our focus remains on delivering practical, impactful solutions for law enforcement. The integration of Flock911 with Flock Aerodome is just one more step toward building a safer, smarter future for communities nationwide.
