We know our customers trust us to provide devices and software that can protect highly sensitive information. Here are some of the steps we’ve put into place we ensure data privacy.
All footage and metadata is encrypted throughout its entire lifecycle, from on-device to storage in the cloud. Flock uses Amazon Web Services cloud storage and KMS-based encryption, limiting access to the encryption keys.
All CJIS data is stored in the AWS GovCloud and is only available to Law Enforcement agencies. No CJIS data is shared with non-Law Enforcement Flock Safety Customers
On device, images are only stored temporarily until it has been uploaded to the cloud, at which point it is removed from the local device.
Your neighborhood owns 100 percent of the data. Flock Safety will never share, sell, or access your data.
Your neighborhood determines who has access to footage. Either an HOA board member or trusted neighbor — it’s the customers’ call.
Flock Safety also has the ability to remove license plate images of neighborhood residents, reducing the concern of neighbors feeling watched and ensuring only non-residents’ license plates are captured.
If a neighbor’s license plate is on the Safelist, any footage of their vehicle will be marked as “resident”.
The neighbor can even opt to have their vehicle removed from the data entirely in the interest of privacy.
