How Neighborhoods Can Use Flock Safety to Help Police Stop Crime

Police need actionable evidence to solve and stop crimes, and a vehicle’s license plate provides exactly that.

That's why Flock Safety built a crime-solving tool that would help deliver what police need in order to solve crimes in neighborhoods.

With Flock, you own 100% of the data your camera captures. Flock will never share or access your footage. You can decide how many users you want for your camera. See how one neighborhood in California uses their Flock Camera.

“What we’re trying to do is capture the evidence the police need to actually make an arrest,” said Garrett Langley, CEO and co-founder of Flock Safety. “We capture what is the most critical piece of evidence—a license plate.”

An officer with the Richmond Police Department in California goes on to say, “When a crime does occur and you can get a license plate, it is very, very helpful. When you are investigating a crime, you want as much information as possible.”

The Flock-protected California neighborhood was able to stop the illegal dumping of furniture, appliances, and construction materials just by installing their Flock cameras.

Illegal dumping can often be expensive for neighborhoods to clear.

“We haven’t really seen any dumping since the cameras went in,” said a neighborhood resident.
