Sunbeam Property Management Group, a commercial property group in Miramar, Florida, has about 600 acres of developed land with 175 tenants in one central location that Sunbeam Property owns and manages. Their tenants consist mainly of offices and warehouse spaces. 

‍Shooting Occurring on the Property

Their investments in security were minimal until a terrible incident occurred where a shooting happened on their property. This situation highlighted the importance of modern security solutions and motivated them to find methods to combat and proactively deter these situations from occurring.

Sunbeam knew they had to figure out a way to get ahead of this issue - and any similar problems that may occur. 

‍Local Police Recommend Flock Safety Cameras

Sunbeam reached out to a local police sergeant who recommended Flock Safety cameras. Police in the area were already using Flock Safety themselves, and they knew that Flock Safety would be a good fit for Sunbeam’s community. Implementing Flock Safety technologies also allowed Sunbeam to strengthen bonds with local police. 

Sunbeam started with a few cameras, then eventually expanded to cover all ten entrances with 20 cameras. 

‍Issues with Trespassers Leaving Trash that Attracted Raccoons

Shortly after installing Flock Safety LPR cameras, Sunbeam had an issue where trespassers were entering the property at night and were leaving food and other trash that was attracting raccoons. This led to various complaints from tenants, negatively impacting their brand.

Sunbeam proceeded to investigate the issue using their Flock Safety LPR cameras and were able to identify the individuals and get their tag numbers. They then added those individuals' tag numbers to Flock Safety’s Custom Hot Lists - which immediately alerted Sunbeam whenever past offenders tried to re-enter the property.

If I get an alert to my phone saying this person is trespassing, then I can speak to the officer and let them know that it’s this person that was trespassing. I send them over to the building to make a trespass.”

Thanks to Flock Safety’s Hot List capabilities, Sunbeam could tackle their trespassing issue directly and rid themselves of this issue that was bothering their tenants. 

‍Building Stronger Ties with Local Law Enforcement

An added benefit of implementing Flock Safety was that Sunbeam was able to deepen its ties with local law enforcement with a tool that made their jobs easier. Police were equipped with actionable evidence that made it possible to know the immediate location of trespassers so they could issue trespassing violations against them. This made it much easier for law enforcement to do their jobs. 

Flock representatives were also quick to answer any questions that Sunbeam may have had. This helped to ensure they didn’t experience any drop in their work efficiency.
