A 22-year-old man from Cottage Hill, Illinois, has been charged with first-degree arson after allegedly setting fire to a toilet paper dispenser in the men's restroom of a Walgreens pharmacy. 

On the night of February 26, 2025, the suspect visited the Walgreens pharmacy and entered the bathroom. After the suspect left, an employee noticed heavy smoke and water emanating from the restroom. 

Once local law enforcement investigated the scene, they discovered a melted dispenser within one of the bathroom stalls - and substantial smoke and water damage affecting the walls and ceiling.

To locate the suspect, investigators relied on tools like social media, surveillance video, and Flock Safety’s LPR Cameras, that were installed nearby, to help identify the suspect.
