Shaping Safer Communities With Our Flock Forward 2024 Sponsors

Technology has the power to be a force multiplier for law enforcement agencies – regardless of size or geography. While first responders are the most critical component of public safety, technology can empower officers to be more informed and effective while also improving officer and citizen safety.

As we approach our first-ever customer conference, Flock Forward 2024, let’s dive into how our sponsors are all integral parts of shaping a safer community through technology.

Imagine a hit-and-run incident, where the perpetrator flees the scene. In the past, such cases would be challenging to solve, with limited resources and technological capabilities. However, with the responsible deployment of advanced technology, law enforcement can now swiftly and safely address these situations.

The first indication of the incident comes from a frantic 911 call. The 911 call immediately appears on the RTCC’s map interface, accompanied by a call transcription and any visuals, providing critical details to assess the situation accurately.

Before dispatching an officer, the department launches a drone as a first responder (DFR), flying above the scene to capture a bird's-eye view. This approach not only ensures officer safety but also provides invaluable situational awareness, allowing law enforcement to confirm the details and plan their next steps accordingly.

With the suspect on the run, an RTCC analyst springs into action, leveraging the power of license plate recognition cameras (LPR) and video cameras installed on streetlight poles at the intersection where the hit-and-run occurred. Utilizing the Flock platform, the analyst conducts a thorough search, identifying the suspect vehicle and retrieving images that have been securely stored in the cloud.

The investigation continues as visual intelligence is seamlessly integrated, providing the suspect's name, address, and phone number, painting a clearer picture of the individual they are pursuing.

Moments later, an LPR alert flashes on the screen, pointing to the suspect vehicle's location as it pulls into a retailer's parking lot. Armed with this situational awareness, officers mobilize, approaching the scene with precision and confidence.

They then are able to apprehend the suspect, closing the case and preventing any further destruction. This feat is made possible by the seamless integration of advanced technology, responsible deployment of the technology, and the continued dedication of law enforcement officers.
